Excluding our stay in the ISCU (infant special care unit) when we were born, Gabe and Addie had their first overnight hospital stay. Last week the kids caught rotavirus and became very, very sick. I finally took the kids to the doctor on Thursday morning...the doctor could tell almost immediately that Gabe was dehydrated, but she was not as sure about Addie...and Gavin was actually doing fine...he was not as sick as the other two. So, she tested Addie and Gabe for dehydration and their blood tests came back indicating pretty severe dehydration...so, we made our way over to the pediatric floor for IV's and observation. The kids were so lethargic and uncomfortable we spent most of Thursday sleeping and trying to get rehydrated. Daddy and Mommy stayed overnight with Gabe and Addie. And by Friday morning, they were doing GREAT! So, our doctor sent us home...and since then we have been doing good.
